Dolasilla (2023-onoing)
What does an injured mountain look like? Does it bleed? Does it howl in pain? Do different mountains hurt in different ways? How does chronic pain look for a body that is 250 years old?
Dolasilla is an ongoing interdisciplinary project that engages with issues of violence, domination and historical memory. Informed by Alessia Lupo’s upbringing in the Dolomite Mountains of Northern Italy, this research engages with geological bodies as a point of inquiry.
The project is named after Dolasilla, daughter of the King of Fanes (a mythological kingdom part of Ladin folklore), a warrior, and a victim of patriarchy.
